Three-step floor sanding process

Hardwood floor sanding restores the surface to bare wood, removing scratches and stains before refinishing. We use a drum sander to remove the varnish or oil covering the surface.

This 99% dust-free sanding is performed using sandpaper with different grits: a first pass with coarse grit, a second pass with medium grit, and a third finishing pass with fine grit.

Of course, sanding must be done in the direction of the wood grain, while removing only a thin layer. For edges and corners, we use an orbital sander.

After sanding, the surface is polished with a buffer, and the wood is then ready for the application of a varnish in the finish of your choice, a semi-transparent stain (with varnish), or a matte oil finish.
